About

Welcome! I am Julien Lam, a permanent CNRS Researcher at the Unité Matériaux et Transformations (UMET) in Lille. Building on a research background spanning Lyon, Bristol, Brussels, and Toulouse, my current work focuses on the intersection of Materials Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Molecular Simulation.

I specialize in developing machine-learning potentials and rare-event sampling techniques to unravel the complex mechanisms of nanocrystal nucleation. By combining atomistic modeling with AI, my goal for the future is to move toward the rational design of nanomaterials, providing a predictive framework that bridges the gap between fundamental theory and experimental synthesis.

Research interests: Nucleation, Crystallization, Machine-learning interaction potentials, Free energy sampling, Nanoparticle synthesis
