This year, the group is expanding with two new recruits. We are happy to welcome Afaf Hrif as PhD student co-supervised with Mathieu Guerain and Gilberto Alou as postdoctoral researcher.

Very excited to promote our most recent paper where we use our PLIP+Q MLIP to study growth mechanisms in ZnO nanoparticle following atom by atom deposition. We show that (1) our simple approach for long-range interactions remains reliable for such complex simulation and (2) growth can induce phase transition from a metastable state.

Kudos to all of the participants of this exciting work: Quentin Gromoff, Carlos R. Salazar, Magali BENOIT and Jacek Goniakowski

I recently had the pleasure of speaking at the summer school organized by the GDR Or-Nano in the beautiful setting of the Institut d’Études Scientifiques in Cargèse.

For those who were unable to make the trip to Corsica but are interested, my entire presentation was filmed. The video is now available on YouTube!

Happy to officially welcome Harry and Daniela in the group as Master 2 student. They will respectively work on Ice nucleation and on Gold/Iron MLIP. Hopefully if everything goes well on both side, they will be able to also start their PhD with us in Autumn.
